Come say hi to Iceland Music at Jazzahead!

Jazzahead! is a trade fair, conference and showcase festival - with contemporary, high-profile jazz from Germany, Europe and the world. It takes place April 27–30, and is where the jazz world comes together to network, exchange ideas, attend conferences and panels, and experience 40 showcase concerts in the official program during four days in Bremen.

Jazzahead!, the world’s most significant annual jazz convention in Bremen, Germany, connects you with the international scene.

Sigtryggur Baldursson is leading the Icelandic delegation on behalf of Iceland Music, and you’ll find the Icelandic stand in the Nordic region at number: 6E-21 . If you are attending, please come over and say hi. Iceland Music is also there to present the Record in Iceland project which aims to promote Iceland as a destination for recordings of all kinds of music, including a 25% refund of all recording costs incurred in Iceland. Reykjavik Jazz Festival will also be there.

Jazzahead was cancelled due to covid in 2020 and 2021, but picked up again last year and Iceland Music brought over a delegation in 2022 and the fair was so successful that this year we have the biggest ever delegation of Icelandic professionals at Jazzahead, so don’t miss us if you’re headed to Bremen. The artists on this years delegation include:

  • Sunna Gunnlaugs

  • Scott McLemore

  • Phil Doyle

  • Freysteinn Gíslason

  • Ingi Bjarni Skúlason

  • Óskar Guðjónsson

  • Sveinn Snorri Sveinsson

  • Silva Thordardóttir

  • Steingrímur Teague

  • Benjamin Gísli Einarsson

Over the years we’ve had memorable performances in the official program from the likes of ADHD, Sunna Gunnlaugs, Scott McLemore and Einar Valur Scheving, and Samuel Jon Samuelsson big band, Ingi Bjarni Trio and Sigurður Flosason/Petur Gretarsson in the Club Night program, all of whom did Iceland proud.

We will also be promoting The Iceland Music playlists – especially our Iceland Music Jazz list where you can find all of this year’s delegates at the top.
