SUpersport!
Supersport! was born in a sort of in-between state in the members’ lives around autumn 2019, but soon turned into an elegant but lively alt-pop project. The group’s first EP, Dog Run EP, which came out via Reykjavík-based arts collective Post-dreifing, was met with enthusiasm by music fans and critics alike, and was recently nominated for the annual Kraumur Music Awards. Supersport! consists of Bjarni Daníel Þorvaldsson that recently got awarded with the title ‘Top 20 under 30’, Þóra Birgit Bernódusdóttir, Hugi Kjartansson and Dagur Reykdal Halldórsson.
GREYSKIES
In art as in life, learning to fully trust your instincts and lean into the things that truly make you tick can be one of the biggest journeys of them all. For Icelandic singer-songwriter Steinar Baldursson, it’s been a path that’s seen him traverse through an early teenage success story and a subsequent series of readjustments and realisations before emerging as GREYSKIES. Now, heading into his second album under the name, Baldursson is embracing the most authentic, brave and truthful version of himself yet. Blending alternative rock production with pop songwriting and often dark lyrics to form a type of dark pop and stadium-ready rock that few have the courage to create.
Elin Hall
A story-teller by heart, Elín Hall explores the relationship between reality and fantasy and knows exactly how to take you along. Her dreamy electronic guitar productions and poetically melancholic lyrical themes got her nominated for Folk Album of the Year at the Icelandic Music awards in 2021. Now with her second album around the corner, it’s first single “Vinir” already got nominated for Song of the Year at the same awards in 2023.
