Three Icelandic nominations at the Hyundai Nordic Music Prize
Three Icelandic musicians are nominated for the Hyundai Nordic Music Prize at the By:Larm music festival that will take place in Oslo, Norway in the end of February. The three nominees are: Hildur Guðnadóttir for Chernobyl, Cell7 for Is Anybody Listening? and Countess Malaise for Hystería.
The Hyundai Nordic Music Prize is an annual award for the Best Nordic Album Of The Year. The prize was initiated by the by:Larm conference in 2010, with several aims:
A stronger unity across the Nordic region's music industry.
Further increase international interest and awareness of what the region has to offer musically.
Refocus on the full-length album as an art form.
JFDR and the metal band Nyrst will perform at By:Larm.
On the 27th of February there will be a Q&A with Academy Award winner Hildur Guðnadóttir. More information about the event is available here.
